“Avengers: Infinity War” Review: The Long Wait Was Well Worth It!

Avengers: Infinity War which is the culmination of ten years of Marvel movies is able to live up to the hype and the anticipation.

Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of the most ambitious and successful film franchise in history. No other movie series could match the Marvel Cinematic Universe when it comes to box office gross, so while people may only expect the best when they go to cinemas, there is also the enormous pressure to live up to the hype.

So does Infinity War deliver? Why, yes it does and more! Without giving too much away, the action sequences are beautifully executed and while some may argue that the special effects are because of a huge budget, let us not forget that without artists working hard behind it the end product could look cartoonish or too busy. In this film we tend to ignore the explosions and focus on the story and the actors are not lost amidst it.

Speaking of the cast, despite the huge roster each star were able to stand out even with just a small quip, a beautiful emotional moment, or a well thought out action movement, it all fits!

The storyline is also quite compelling and it keeps you glued to your seat wanting to find out more. Try not to drink too much while watching this. Trust me, you won't want to miss a thing, because so much is packed into every scene.

The one main flaw that has always characterized the MCU is the villain. Does Thanos escapes the trend, like Loki, Killmonger and Zemo who were able to stand out? He actually does, although he still won't be considered the best, Tom Hiddleston's Loki is still unmatched.

Josh Brolin as Thanos is not one-dimensional. He is not just in it for the kill. He has his reasons for wanting to end half the universe, and while it may not be that logical it makes sense for him and it is his main motivation. There is also a certain tenderness with him, as he is shown to actually really care for his adopted daughter, Gamora (Zoe Saldana).

Even if they cured one flaw, there is still a small problem with Infinity War, and that it may be too over complicated if you haven't watched and understood all the movies that came before. That is intentional of course, and it may only affect casual fans. Aside from that, this film is a masterpiece and I can't wait for the as of yet untitled Avengers 4.

Avengers: Infinity War is now showing in cinemas worldwide.
