The best film of the Terminator series is coming back to theaters on Aug. 25th exclusively with AMC and we could not be more excited! Director James Cameron has gotten this film ready for a 4K 3D release which will make an already amazing movie look even better. Terminator 2: Judgment Day is the second installment of the Terminator films and it follows the story of John Connor (Edward Furlong) while he’s a preteen and a victim of the system thanks to his mother getting locked up under the suspicion that she’s crazy.
Brief synopsis of Terminator and Terminator 2
In the first film, Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) is a carefree 20 something who’s biggest concern is whether or not she’s going out to the club. Her life changes dramatically when Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) arrives to keep her safe from a killer robot from the future. Enter Arnold Schwarzenegger as the evil Terminator sent back to kill Sarah before she can produce a child who will grow up to be the only resistance in the war against the machines. Sarah and Kyle succeed in stopping the Terminator and getting Sarah pregnant with the world’s future but at the price of Kyle’s life.
In the second film, John Connor is a bad kid who has been broken by the system after Sarah was put away for her crazy thoughts. Arnold Schwarzenegger joins the fun again as the Terminator but this time he’s the good guy and he’s been sent back to protect John. The T-1000 (Robert Patrick) has also been sent back and he’s a newer, better model. The race ensues and this time around it’s Terminator against Terminator with a more heart-filled story and humor to add to the journey.
Terminator 2 is better than the original
There are few times sequels are better then the original film but with T2 that’s the case. Is the portrayal of Arnold as the good guy or the storyline? We can’t ever be 100% sure but we do know that it is a beloved film and arguably the best film of the Terminator franchise. So, if you’re already a fan, get out there and see it on the big screen or if you’ve never seen it, don’t miss your chance.
