Fans of Consuela “Connie” Rubirosa rejoice!
Actress Alana De La Garza announced via Twitter that she will be guest starring on Law & Order: SVU in the very near future. Fans of the original L&O will remember that she was second chair to Assistant District Attorney Jack McCoy, and then newly promoted ADA Michael Cutter from 2006 until the show’s final season in 2010. She was also Deputy District Attorney in Law & Order: LA which only lasted eight episodes in 2011.
There’s a slight twist in her character, though, going into her guest spot on SVU. TVLine has reported that she will be playing a federal prosecutor instead of an ADA, and will be heading up a joint taskforce on underage sex trafficking.
In L&O, Rubirosa was known for being an advocate of women’s rights, as well as being sympathetic towards children. She was also known to be supportive of 9/11 terrorism laws. Rubirosa’s family emigrated from Mexico and she was known to be supportive of immigrants, both legal and illegal.
The actress tweeted over the weekend that she had received her script for the episode. The number of episodes she will appear in and an airdate have yet to be announced.
In addition to being in the L&O franchise, her work includes CBS’ CSI:Miami, and NBC’s Do No Harm.
