While Glee stars Lea Michele and Naya Rivera have successfully released debut singles and albums, it is another fan favorite who is getting everyone talking about her debut song. Amber Riley blew everyone away when she performed her soon-to-be debut single, ”Colorblind,” on The Queen Latifah Show April 3, 2014. While fans have known that she’s been working on solo music, we have only been treated to little snippets of songs from Amber’s social media pages.
At this point, it’s hard to believe that there is a song that Amber Riley won’t absolutely dominate! Luckily those, like me, who absolutely loved her new song will not have to wait long to click that download button. Her song debuts on iTunes April 8th, the same day that “Colorblind” is featured on Glee. This is not the first time Glee has showcased their cast’s personal songs. Matthew Morrison’s song “Still Got Tonight” was performed by Morrison himself all the way back in Season 2.
Fans can only hope this is a sign we will be getting more and more music from the fabulous Ms. Riley. If her other songs are anything like “Colorblind,” her album should be a smashing success. If you haven’t heard her song yet, stop whatever you are doing and take a listen now! Trust me when I say it is well worth your time. It’s so exciting to witness all of Amber’s hard work pay off.
