DC Comics Regular Clancy Brown Brings His Smooth Talent To ‘The Flash’

After being in many other DC Comics-related projects, actor Clancy Brown will now star in CW’s ‘The Flash’ as The General.

Sleepy Hollow alum Clancy Brown has taken the role of General Wade Eiling for The Flash. While the role is reccuring, we won’t get to see his appearance until the 5th episode.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Brown will play General Wade Eiling, also known as the General, the head of a black ops army team pursuing Plastique (Kelly Frye) in the hopes of using her as a human weapon. Described as a tall and imposing man, with a ‘face carved from years of duty,’ Eiling is fanatically intent on protecting American interests around the world and may have ties to a central Flash character.”

In the DC comics, The General first appeared as an antagonist in the Captain Atom series in the 80’s. He then went on to become a minor menace in the Justice League, which became more prominent in the JLA. He also appeared in the animated series Justice League Unlimited and Young Justice.

Brown is not new to the DC Universe. Having voice acted in LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Super Heroes Unite, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (video game), Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and the Green Lantern: The Animated Series, it’s no surprise that he would take on another DC role.

Welcome back to the DC Universe, Mr. Brown. Good luck catching a woman who can turn any object she touches into an explosive device.
