Bette Midler Breaks Our Hearts: No Hocus Pocus 2

Bette Midler spilled the bad news: Hocus Pocus will not be getting a sequel. While you can’t mess with the classics, we need more Sanderson sisters!

Back on October 31st, 1693, the Sanderson sisters were flying on their broomsticks around Salem, Massachusetts trying to find a child to absorb the youth from, but failed. 300 hundred years later, the witch sisters came back from the dead in the classic 1993 Halloween film Hocus Pocus, which was directed Kenny Ortega. The sisters, played by Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker made this a cult film and a go-to for children to watch during the spooky holiday.

But, many fans are still wondering: will there be a Hocus Pocus 2?

Fans have been asking Midler on social media sites about if there would be a sequel for months and she finally answered the big question in November 2015. According to E! News, Midler’s response to a fan during a Q&A on Facebook was, “After all these years and all the fan demand, I do believe I can stand and firmly say an unequivocal no.” Because of Midler’s definite answer, it is confirmed there won’t be a Hocus Pocus 2 coming any time soon.
