When it comes to iconic moments in MTV Video Music Awards history, it is always Britney Spears who tops the list. It looks like she’ll be returning again to turn heads this year.
On August 28th the MTV VMAs will be back, and if that alone isn’t enough to get you to tune in, this week the Princess of Pop released a video announcing her return to the award show stage.
The video features throw backs to her most memorable performance moments. Remember when she walked out on stage with a giant yellow snake? How about when she kissed Madonna in a wedding dress? If you missed out on seeing it yourself then you definitely heard about it the next day… and the day after that… you know, people are STILL talking about it. It’s Britney, Bitch, and that’s how Britney Spears does it. From the sounds of things, this performance plans to deliver.
“It’s a way of taking a fraction of a second and making it live forever,” she declares via voiceover as a large python (a reference to her snake charming, jungle princess days) slithers across her dressing room. “Before you know it, it’s history. Before you know it… it’s Britney, bitch.” If that doesn’t give you chills….

Britney will perform her lead Glory single “Make Me” alongside G-Eazy on August 28th at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. Her performance will come mere days after releasing her ninth studio album, Glory. The show will air live from New York’s Madison Square Garden Read at 9pm EST. Be sure to tune in and witness what I’m sure we will all be talking about for years to come.
