Even pop princesses who probably encounter many metrosexual men while traveling the globe are prone to make that mistake, like Britney Spears (apparently).

In a video of an old interview that has recently gone viral, Spears is shown to be in shock when she apparently “realizes” that Ryan Seacrest is in fact not gay!

The incident occurred at Ryan’s iHeartRadio show in 2013, wherein Britney was promoting her eighth album, Britney Jean.

Will.I.am, the album’s executive producer, was also present for the interview. He started talking about sprinkling cologne on his girl in reference to Britney’s Sia-penned “Perfume” before claiming that most guys don’t behave that territorially. Ryan replied that he does, and Will.I.am asks, “you spray cologne on your girl?”

Seacrest explained that he sprays cologne on his pillow to trick himself into believing that someone is sleeping next to him. At that point an apparent look of confusion dawns on Britney’s face. Her head whips back and forth between the two men, then viewers point out that she allegedly mouthed “girl?”

The interview goes on and Britney seems to have thought of something, as she burst out in silent laughter while the guys went on talking. Keen eyed viewers think that this is the moment that Britney Spears realized that Ryan Seacrest is not gay.

Of course we are not really sure what Britney was really thinking; after all, she has not said anything about the event. Perhaps we’ll get to hear her side of things during promo for Glory, her ninth studio album due out later this month!

For his part, Ryan Seacrest has never been shy about dating high profile women. A list of his previous lady loves would include such names as actress Shana Wall, models Holly Huddlestone and Sophie Monk, Playboy Bunnies Dominique Piek and Shayna Taylor, Sarah Jean Underwood, and of course there is Julianne Hough.

Most recently he has been dating, former beauty queen, Hilary Cruz.
