If you never got a chance to see comedians Nick Kroll and John Mulaney star on Broadway in their comedy show Oh, Hello, don’t worry because soon you can! The play closed in late January, but before it did, it was filmed over two days professionally for Netflix. Kroll and Mulaney play two opinionated old men named Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland, respectively.
These are two funny guys so I’m very much looking forward to this show. It got good reviews when it was on Broadway, but as I’ve said before, not everyone can get to New York City, so it’s great that it’ll now available to all on Netflix. This play actually begun as characters on Nick Kroll’s Comedy Central show The Kroll Show. The pair also hosted a few comedy shows in a club in New York to really nail their characters. The success of Gil and George’s several appearances on The Kroll Show led them to a limited run off-Broadway and then on Broadway.
Oh, Hello‘s Netflix Trailer
John Mulaney actually has two hilarious stand-up specials on Netflix already, which you should go watch or rewatch as you wait for Oh, Hello to drop. And if you want to see some of Nick Kroll’s comedy, he has a lot. Aside from doing stand-up, he’s written and starred on shows like The League and The Kroll Show and guest starred on shows like Parks And Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, as well as having several movie roles.
Playbill says that Oh, Hello featured some cameos from stars like Tina Fey, Josh Groban, and Jason Alexander, but it remains to be seen if they’ll all be in the Netflix version.
Oh, Hello hits Netflix on June 13th. Are you excited to watch it?
