Hell or High Water, starring Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, Ben Foster and Gil Birmingham, is one of the best movies of the year. Don’t believe me? Just ask the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards, both of which nominated it for awards in their season. Well, to be fair, the Screen Actors Guild Awards only nominated Bridges, but who wouldn’t? His performance in the film was absolutely incredible.
So it was no surprise that, when Jeff was being honored with the hand print ceremony that is part of Grauman’s Chinese Theater, they asked Chris Pine to do the honor of talking about the beloved actor. Famous for his work in The Big Lebowski, Tron, and Crazy Heart, Jeff is a Hollywood legend.
Honestly, one of the most surprising things was that his first Academy Award win was for Crazy Heart in 2010. But, most recently, his work in Hell or High Water may win him his second.
The ceremony featured Chris Pine and Sharon Stone — both costars of Bridges and two people who respect him. For Pine, he has said, time and time again, how much he admires Jeff and how great it was to work with a childhood hero of his.
“He is a pillar. He is a backbone. He may as well be royalty. Even within the business actors are fangirling over Jeff Bridges all the time, including myself,” Chris Pine said during the ceremony.
And all of us are fangirling over Jeff still. His work continues to inspire audiences, and his photography and music are both becoming staples, as well. He is just an incredible man, and we look forward to all the work he still has left to give us. Jeff Bridges is one of the greats after all.
