Church Hosts Ultimate Halloween Experience With “End World: Fire And Ice”

A church group based in Columbus, Ohio, has upped-the-ante for what one would expect from the religious sector during a season that is predominately witches and broomsticks; not exactly your Sunday potluck kind of celebration, right?

The youth group and leadership at Faith Life Church, has embraced the holiday as an opportunity to spread a message of hope and love through the sci-fi heavy End World: Fire and Ice production. The stereotypical “Bible thumping” methodology that is typically expected from generally anti-Halloween productions by churches is left by the wayside, and instead you’re transported through space to planet Ignis – the setting for the high energy production. While the forces of good and evil go head-to-head in a battle to save the planet and the souls of its inhabitants, you’re strapped in for ride that is both “entertaining and inspiring” according to sources from Out N’ About Columbus.

Much like C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien did with their epic classics (Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings), the characters in End World have been created with a clever parallel to Biblical heroes; Virtus, Blaze, Ghost and Zedica are just a few of the names you’ll discover as they journey to save the planet from the impending freeze.

“I was involved with Fire and Ice for three years and it was an incredible experience,” said former cast member Audra Patton. “Everyone was just a big family – there is such a comradery with the other cast members; sharing the same passion and heart for the show.”

The group is responsible for the original screenplay, soundtrack, videography, dance and fight choreography, costume and set design as well as a shop full of End World merch. Other than taking their popular show on the road (book them here), the group is also hard at work on turning the popular production into a book series.

While the group continues to change the opinions of skeptics when it comes to church productions, be sure and check out their website for more info and catch a show next time it’s in your area.
