Craig Ferguson’s got some questions.
Former late-night host and robot skeleton friend Craig Ferguson will be bringing his interviewing talents to YouTube in October. In the six-episode “Couple Thinkers,” Ferguson and his wife, Megan Ferguson, will be exploring big-idea questions they have and speaking with experts in hopes of gaining answers and insight along the way. Clothing company Gant is sponsoring the series, which will focus on the Fergusons' content as opposed to being more strictly advertorial. (The Fergusons will, though, wear Gant clothes in the show.)
Questions explored in the series include “Do you think we’ll have to prepare the children to leave this planet?” and “What is success?” Some of the notable people the Fergusons talk with include astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, scientist Daisy Robinton, and author and businesswoman (and founder of The Huffington Post) Arianna Huffington. As Craig says in the trailer for the series, “In this program, we try really hard to get new perspectives on our discussions.”
Craig Ferguson: Returning to the Talk Show World?
News of Craig Ferguson’s Gant-sponsored YouTube series will likely have many of his fans hoping this is a first step back into the world of late night. Though he’s been hosting SiriusXM’s daily “The Craig Ferguson Show” since February of 2017, plans for another talk show don’t appear likely to happen any time soon. As he told The Daily Beast in 2015 of his 2005-2014 stint as host of The Late Late Show on CBS, “I remember it very fondly. I don’t miss it, though… Here’s the thing: I’m still doing it. I’m just not doing it late-night.”
Fans of Craig’s signature wild, freewheeling, and smart style can enjoy a bit of it when Couple Thinkers debuts on YouTube on October 9. In the meantime, check out the trailer featuring Craig and Megan:
