If you’re like me and LOVE to see a bit of David Tennant on your screens, you’ll be thrilled at this latest Red Nose Day announcement! Tennant is set to co-host part of the marathon TV show, alongside Jack Whitehall and Jonathon Ross, on Friday 15thMarch!
Comic Relief – Red Nose Day takes place every two years (alternating with Sport Relief) with the ultimate aim of benefitting disadvantaged people across the UK and Africa, and creating a world free from poverty. The TV broadcast continues from 7pm (GMT) to the early hours of the following morning on BBC One, and Tennant will be in the studio from 11:05pm.
Other presenters include Lenny Henry, Dermot O’Leary, Claudia Winkelman, Michael McIntyre, Rob Brydon, John Bishop, Davina McCall, David Walliams, Alan Carr and Russell Brand, as well as special appearances from French and Saunders, Peter Kay, Miranda Hart, Graham Norton and Russell Howard.
One Direction’s Comic Relief single (‘One Way Or Another/Teenage Kicks’) has gained number one spots across over 60 countries in order to raise money.
In addition to this, Russell Brand has organized a Give It Up for Comic Relief gig, featuring Eddie Izzard, Noel Fielding and Jimmy Carr, and including music from Emeli Sande, Jessie J, and Nicole Scherzinger.
Tennant’s previous involvement with Red Nose Day include presenting the show alongside Davina McCall in 2009, as well as filming appeals from Uganda in 2010 and 2011.
