Although Justin Bieber has endured negative publicity in recent months due to his erratic behavior, one former teen idol has come out to support the pop star.
James Van Der Beek was recently interviewed by Vulture speaking on how he never faced the intense and constant criticism pop stars like Bieber endure.
Van Der Beek explained, “Those kids – number one, they’re so young. Number-two, they’re under such an intense microscope. And there’s a lot more money to be made off of them than there was when I was famous.”
Bieber, who recently was on Forbes list of highest-paid musicians, couldn’t care less about his critics. “I know who I am and what I’m doing in my life and what I’ve accomplished and continue to accomplish as a performer, as a writer, as an artist, as a person, as a human being. I’m happy with the man I’m becoming,” Bieber said.
It’s hard to imagine how the former teen sweetheart would have handled his 90’s popularity during this post-modern social media age we all live in. But, I think Van Der Beek is happy with his less profiled life as he witnesses all the media attention and millions of Beliebers Justin Bieber deals with.
