Walt Disney Studios have today announced the release dates for both the upcoming new live action adaptation of The Jungle Book and Alice in Wonderland 2, the sequel to the 2010 film Alice in Wonderland.
Jon Favreau is directing the latest adaptation of the classic Rudyard Kipling tale that will hit theatres on October 9, 2015. The screenplay was written by Justin marks and is based on the story of Mowgli, a young boy who lives in the jungle after being raised by wolves.
The Johnny Depp starring Alice in Wonderland, will see him return as the Mad Hatter alongside Mia Wasikowska as Alice. The first Alice film was directed by Tim Burton and earned itself over $1.025 billion at the box office worldwide. The sequel is directed by the man behind The Muppets, James Bobin and will be released to cinemas May 27, 2016.
