Avatar fans, fear not. The amusement park is still happening. In fact, Disney has unveiled the first photos of the park, which is set to open its door for the first time in 2017.

Avatar’s little slice of Disney World will reside inside the Animal Kingdom, situated between the Oasis and Africa, and spanning the land currently recognized as Camp Minnie-Mickey. The displaced Festival of the Lion King will find a new home in a freshly-constructed theater located in Africa. The Tree of Life, an Animal Kingdom staple, can also be seen in the concept photos; making it a pretty good bet that it will take part in the Na’vi experience.

The new Avatar experience marks the largest expansion in the life of the park. It will boast a new nighttime spectacular that will include live music, water screens, swirling animal imagery, and floating lanterns, as well as other new and exciting entertainment opportunities. Discovery Island will also get an influx of live performances, coupled with updated Kilimanjaro Safaris.

After hearing about all of these costly updates, it stands to reason that Disney is looking for a way to get people to stay in the park longer. Specifically in the Animal Kingdom, which hasn’t been as profitable as Disney’s other park. The Animal Kingdom also saw an even bigger drop in profits after Universal opened the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which has Potterheads flocking in droves.
