Annually OUT Magazine posts a list that they call the “Power 50“, which is a collection of the fifty most powerful and influential LGBT people in the public eye. Last year, the honor went to Apple CEO Tim Cook. However, this year the top spot was taken by the quirky and hilariously adorable Ellen DeGeneres.
OUT Magazine justified this selection by stating “Everybody loves Ellen, and that’s one of the reasons she’s regained the top spot”.
The rest of the list contains celebrities from various facets of industry, including actors such as Neil Patrick Harris, mega-producers Ryan Murphy and Scott Rudin, talk show hosts like Andy Cohen and Robin Roberts and breakout star Laverne Cox. Tim Cook, who topped the list last year, is bumped down to second position.
