Friday Night Lights was an NBC drama based around the goings on of a Texan High School football team. It had a run of 5 seasons, which came to an end in 2011. There were rumours of a reunion movie being in the works, but Connie Britton, who played Tami Taylor has said that she understands that the reunion movie won’t be happening.

The producer of the show, Peter Berg announced recently that he’s against any attempt at a reunion project. He told Collider: “There’s not gonna be a movie. We talked about it, some people thought it was a good idea, some didn’t.” Members of the Friday Night Lights cast also agreed with their producer. Taylor Kitsch, Scott Porter and Kyle Chandler all were opposed to the prospect of a reunion. Kitsch told Vulture: “I’ll just say no. Period.”

Britton told Vanity Fair: “You know what, I actually feel like it’s good.”

She goes on to say: “I think that the decision needed to be made, and there’s been so much going back and forth about it now for so long. And I feel like the only way that was ever going is if it just fell into place beautifully, and if everyone was on board, because we couldn’t do anything to risk what Friday Night Lights has already been.”

All hope is not lost, however! The cast earlier this year did have a mini reunion. On 22nd October, Scott Porter, who played Jason Street posted a picture of him and his fellow cast mates on his Instagram page.
