David Tennant has quite the busy autumn/winter ahead of him. The Doctor Who actor is about to start his latest role as Richard II for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-Upon-Avon, and will be bursting back into the TARDIS for the 50th Anniversary episode of the iconic BBC drama. Doctor Who is not the only TV show we will be able to see Mr Tennant in this autumn.
The BBC have shown a trailer for a new drama The Escape Artist where Tennant will be playing the role of a high flying barrister who has to deal with the consequences of his role in an acquittal which turns out to be not all that it first appears.
The BBC drama which will air later this month, will also star Ugly Betty‘s Ashley Jensen and is written by Spooks creator David Wolstencroft. The writer said that he is looking forward to seeing David Tennant fill the shoes of Will “The Escape Artist” Burton.
“I wanted to write a thriller set in the legal world that’s as much about those primal feelings as it is about the twists and turns of the case. David Tennant is one of the most accomplished and iconic actors of his generation. I cannot wait to see him in Will’s shoes.”
