If you’ve been following us here at PopWrapped, you know we give you the best of the best! Recently, you got to see the list of songs for Glee‘s “New Directions” episode, and now you’re getting one more! But if spoilers aren’t your thing, turn back now!
This song, from tomorrow’s all-new episode “Frenemies” keeps Glee on the turnip truck for a bit longer. Since the passing of Finn Hudson, and his actor Corey Monteith, the show has been kind of spiraling. The characters, and the actors, are putting on their brave faces and soldiering on, but we can see things aren’t the same. This has not gone unnoticed by the show’s creators, who are doing their best to keep the show, and the plot, moving forward.
To that end, the mid-season premiere kicks off with “Frenemies.” The seniors of McKinely are getting ready to graduate, and Artie and Tina are in heated combat. For what? The honor of giving the valedictorian speech, of course! Neither of them want to give up this chance, which may cost them more than just the speech.
In true Glee fashion, Artie and Tina–and Blaine–settle their differences through a musical number. Kelly Clarkson’s 2004 chart topper, “Breakaway,” marks the seniors’ departure from McKinely, and moves the show further away from Lima and closer to New York.
