Filming for the 2014 film, The Man From UNCLE started earlier this month. This week we are getting our first look from one of the stars of the movie, Henry Cavill.
In the released photos, they show Cavill looking very James Bond like in a suit.
The spy-fi action-adventure comedy film is set to be directed by Guy Ritchie, who has also directed the reboot Sherlock Holmes films. The Man From UNCLE film is based on the 1964 television series of the same name.
The film is set in the 1960s and centers on CIA agent Solo, to be played by Cavill, and KGB agent Kuryakin, to be played by Armie Hammer. The two agents are forced to put aside their long-standing hostilities and team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization. They’re only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to finding a way into the organization. The film also stars Hugh Grant as the head of the British naval intelligence.
The film was originally set to be filmed back in 2011 with Steven Soderbergh as director and George Clooney as Solo. Soderbergh pulled out of the project after a budget dispute with Warner Bros. Clooney was forced to quit the project after suffering a back injury that prevented him from being able to cope with the film’s physical demands.
If you’d like to see the film when it’s finished you’ll be able to check it out when it hits theatres sometime in 2014.
