FX unveiled the premiere dates for two of their smash-hit returning series, Fargo and American Horror Story: Hotel, as well as the date for their highly anticipated new drama series The Bastard Executioner.
The Bastard Executioner will have a two-hour premiere on September 15 and will air on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. This 10 episode drama series is brought to audiences by Kurt Sutter, the creator of the dearly departed FX series Sons of Anarchy. The Bastard Executioner takes place in Northern Wales and tells a medieval tale about a blood-soaked rebellion and an intense political “upheaval.” Lee Jones will play Wilkin, a 14th century warrior who’s offered to lead the life of a journeyman executioner and Katey Sagal will be a mystical healer whose manipulated by Stephen Moyer’s political character and will serve as the warrior’s guide. Wilkin will form a potential romantic connection with Flora Spencer-Longhurst’s character while trying to understand his greater purpose in life.
American Horror Story: Hotel is set to terrify us on Wednesdays at 10 p.m., starting on October 7th. The fifth season of American Horror Story is surrounded by mystery, plot-wise, and has the most kick-ass cast which this time around includes: Lady Gaga, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, Matt Bomer, Sarah Paulson, Denis O’ Hare, Cheyenne Jackson and Chloë Sevigny. American Horror Story: Hotel will showcase horror similar to the one presented to viewers in the first season and I, for one, simply cannot wait to see what Hotel has in store for us.
The sophomore season of Fargo, which will contain 10 episodes, will premiere on Mondays at 10 p.m. beginning on October 12th. This season of Fargo will take place in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Luverne, Minnesota in 1979. Lou Solverson, played by Patrick Wilson, is investigating a case involving a crime gang, a mob-syndicate, beautician Peggy (Kirsten Dunst) and her husband Ed (Jesse Plemons). Solverson’s investigation, with the help of his father, will lead him to meet a slew of interesting characters such as the ones played by Nick Offerman and Brad Garrett. The 1st season of Fargo, which starred Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton, was a colossal hit that received critical acclaim and garnered 18 Emmy nominations. The 2nd season, which tells a separate story from the 1st, is this year’s most awaited series and fans are waiting with baited breath for the series’ October debut!
