It looks like Gerard Butler won’t be riding waves, robbing banks, and waxing poetic after all. The busy actor has pulled out of the role of Bodhi in the remake of Point Break. Butler reportedly left the project due to “creative differences and scheduling conflicts.”
Production on the movie will go ahead as scheduled with filming starting in June. Luke Bracey will take on the role of undercover FBI agent turned surfer dude Johnny Utah, played by Keanu Reeves in the 1991 original.
With Butler out of the picture, who will now fill the wetsuit and Ronald Reagan mask Patrick Swayze left behind? Any suggestions, PopWrappers?
Or do you think this remake will be a massive wipe-out regardless of casting and Butler made the right choice to paddle back to shore?
