Perhaps best known for her role on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Gretchen Rossi dove headfirst into the entertainment industry, being cast in shows such as Rally On and Mia Mundo. Behind the camera, however, Rossi’s work ethic doesn’t slow.

PopWrapped’s Arthur Marroquin had the chance to talk with Gretchen Rossi at Sundance Film Festival to discuss Choices Recovery and her website, Shop Gretchen Christine.

PopWrapped: What brings you to Sundance this time around?

Gretchen Rossi: So this year we came out with Choices Recovery, and we are hosting on behalf of them, which is a rehab facility in Michigan, and it’s really great to be out here to speak to everybody that’s in the industry and the business just kind of talking about, you know, the substance abuse and the drug epidemic that is hitting our country really hard right now. So it’s been great to be out here and represent them and talk with everybody about that.

Slade Smiley: What was interesting was to get the perspective of directors, producers, and actors who are, you know, touched on the drug epidemic and their perception on how it affects entertainment.

PW: Yes, I mean, you know that’s a big topic, especially in the entertainment business — you know it’s a very big subject. So that’s great that you all came out and you’re talking about it. So you are also here, and maybe, you know, I hear that you’re working on a few other things?

GR: Yeah, we do have some things in the works that we’re excited about. Some scripted stuff and also some stuff that is not necessarily on camera that’s more behind the camera. Slade and I love creating and producing and writing, so there’s some fun projects that are in the works for that.

PW: Yeah, tell me what you can tell me.

SS: Well, they can tune in right now to see my mini-series. So I did a ten-hour miniseries for History Channel called Texas Rising, which is currently airing on History. Probably won’t recognize me with the beard and long hair.

GR: So legit. I watched him in the show, and I had no clue it was him. Like he did his scene, and I’m like ‘who is that?” because he looks so different. He grew his hair really long, and he grew really a long beard, so I like didn’t even recognize him.
