Gwen Stefani Is Still Working On Her Solo Album

Gwen Stefani might have dropped a couple of singles, but she changed plans about the album and is still working on it for a 2015 release.

Gwen Stefani made a comeback as a solo artist this year, impacting the world with the singles “Baby Don’t Lie” and “Spark The Fire”. Even though her upcoming, third studio album was expected to drop this month, the songstress has now revealed that she’s still working on it.

During a recent interview, the No Doubt frontwoman revealed that she had no intention of ever releasing another record of her own. Instead, she wanted to put out new music while doing The Voice and the short amount of time wouldn’t work for a No Doubt record, so she decided to do it by herself. However, it’s taking her quite longer than expected and here’s what she had to say about the overall process:

“At first I was like, ‘Oh, I’ll just put out a record! Let’s do it!’, but now I’m like, ‘Wait a minute’. I feel like I was getting rushed by doing the show and trying to put the record out and having a new baby and doing No Doubt shows. It was just a lot to handle at one time, so I’m still working on the music and I think the only way to do it right now, with everything going on in my life, is to collaborate. Some of the best thing I’ve ever done — things I think are my favorite — are the collaborations.”

In addition to the process, she also revealed some of those mentioned collaborations. As it seems, the songstress has teamed up with the likes of Benny Blanco, Sia and Charli XCX to craft music for her third record. Promising people to work with indeed!

Well, we definitely don’t want a rushed album by Gwen Stefani, do we? Let the woman take her time to put the pieces together and make everything work well together.
