I’ve often heard of celebrities opening their own clothing stores, buying sports teams and opening their own restaurants. I never dreamed of the day that I would see the Hanson brothers release thier own line of beer.Back in 2011, the brothers announced their plans to launch their own brand of beer, and now it’s finally being released in stores!
The beer is called Mmmhops, after thier breakthrough hit “Mmmbop” from 1997. The beer has been brewed in partnership with Oklahoma’s Mustang brewing. All the proceeds from sales of Mmmhops beer will be donated to the Red Cross disaster relief fund to help those who were affected by the tornado that recently swept Oklahoma, where the band is from. Taylor Hanson released a statement regarding the charitable donation Mmmhops will raise. He said, “The tragedy hits close to home, especially since this community was among the first places our band performed together, including schools which were lost in the storm. We are hopeful that the proceeds we can galvanize will play a lasting role in the recovery efforts.”
Along with the beer, Mmmhops T-shirts and beer glasses will be available for purchase.
