Hayley Atwell made Agent Carter fans the world over ecstatic on Saturday morning when she stated in a panel at the Orlando, Florida MegaCon that she wants to come back for another season of the beloved show. When asked if she would do it, Atwell replied, “Yes, 100%. I love Peggy. I love the people working on this project. [It would be] a privilege and an honor to bring her back to the fans.” And in regards to Hayley’s already busy schedule shooting ABC’s new procedural drama, Conviction, she added, “I’d shoot on the weekends. Blue serum. Whatever it takes.”

Since the announcement of Agent Carter’s cancellation by ABC, a strong fan movement has swept the internet imploring the streaming giant, Netflix, to pick up the show as an original series. A fan petition on Change.Org has received more than 112,000 signatures over the course of two weeks and is still on the rise. Seeing the show resurrected on Netflix is not completely out of the realm of possibility — Marvel already has a strong working relationship with the company and Daredevil and Jessica Jones have seen massive success on the platform with Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher, and The Defenders all waiting in the wings. And the recently announced deal with Disney guaranteeing exclusive streaming rights to all Disney and Marvel properties makes an Agent Carter original a no-brainer. Besides, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Jessica Jones could use some company on that roster as the only female-led Marvel property on Netflix and Peggy Carter is just the woman for the job. The show’s vintage vibe and noir-inspired look would provide the perfect compliment to the decidedly modern, dark, and gritty Marvel landscape taking hold over there.
Other takeaways from the MegaCon panel include her opinion on the budding Sharon Carter and Steve Rogers romance seen in Captain America: Civil War, Atwell commented, “I think it’s wrong.” (And we agree, Peggy! #TeamSteggy forever!) She was also asked if she would like a boy or a girl if Peggy and Steve ever had a child, “Steve would be cute with a little girl.” And ovaries the world over just exploded into tiny little pieces at that image…
So, one of the big, looming questions has officially been answered: Hayley Atwell wants to do more Agent Carter. Now fans just have to convince the suits to get the ball rolling.
