Hero The Band, consisting of four brothers based in Atlanta (Nick, DJ, Jerramy, and Justin), are premiering their newest music video, “All Time Low (A.T.L.)” with us today, and it’s a really refreshing take on the daily internal struggle we all have, whether we want to admit it or not.

The video is in black and white, and the scenes are somewhat startling, seeming to represent the invisible asylum that the main themes of the song–hate, fear, doubt, and regret–trap us in.

“All Time Low” is speaking about the inner conflict of self and overcoming all of the negative characteristics we all are faced with day in and day out. The video idea was a collaboration with our good friend Mike. We wanted to recreate the music video “Scream” by Michael and Janet Jackson with an added twist using the inspiration of the movie “Shutter Island” starring Leonardo DiCaprio,” Hero The Band told PopWrapped about the inspiration behind it. “The shoot was intense and a lot of fun because we had to get out of our comfort zone to convey all of the hidden messages.”

The song itself is mellow and emotive, inspired by the popular music from the 1960s. The soul within it is offset nicely by Willie Hyn’s smooth and insightful rap verse, which gives me a distinct Andre 3000 vibe.

Hero have been creating music since 2008, but the band was officially born in 2010. Inspired by greats like Prince (may he RIP), The Beatles, JImi Hendrix, and Earth, Wind, & Fire, their musical background stems from being raised in the church and having many family members who sing and play instruments.

Their goal is to promote self-love and identity through their music, which we absolutely need more of in the world we’re living in.
