Hulk Hogan Apologizes For Racist Rant During Interview With GMA

After being released by WWE after footage of Hulk Hogan using the ‘n’ word during a rant, the pro-wrestler has apologized during an interview with GMA.

After being released by WWE after footage of Hulk Hogan using the ‘n’ word during a rant, the pro-wrestler whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea has apologised for his outburst during an interview with Good Morning America.

During the interview he said:

“Please forgive me … I think if you look at the whole picture of who Hulk Hogan is, you can see over all the years that there’s not a racist bone in my body. I’m not a racist but I never should have said what I said.”

This comment came despite the fact that in the rant that landed him (rightly so) in so much trouble he said,

I am a racist, to a point, fucking niggers.”

Back-tracking slightly, Hogan told GMA that the use of racist language was common and part of the environment he grew up in declaring:

“People need to realize that you inherit things from your environment. And where I grew up was south Tampa, Port Tampa, and it was a really rough neighborhood, very low income. And all my friends, we greeted each other saying that word.”

He then went on to encourage that the ‘n’ word be taken

“…out of the dictionary. Let’s not use it in rap songs or movies. I mean, if it’s unacceptable, it’s unacceptable.”

Do you watch the interview? Do you accept Hogan’s apology? What extra punishments, if any, do you think he should be given? Comment below and let us know!
