Jack Quaid Raises Awareness With Project UROK And The Harry Potter Alliance

Jack Quaid of The Hunger Games is teaming up with Project UROK and the Harry Potter Alliance for the #myhungergames campaign.

Project UROK is a non-profit organization focused on broadening public awareness about mental illness. They invite anyone who wants to share their stories and experiences to log onto their website and submit videos, donate, or just follow their recent news.

They even have celebrity guests, including Mara Wilson and Wil Wheaton.

Their most recent celebrity guest is Jack Quaid, famous for his role in The Hunger Games and Vinyl. Quaid teamed up with Project UROK and the Harry Potter Alliance to raise awareness for the HPA’s #myhungergames campaign, which raises awareness about the impact of income equality on mental illness.

Fans of The Hunger Games movies and books will know how mental illness and addiction have affected the citizens of Panem. Katniss’ mother suffers from depression, Haymich has an alcohol addiction, and Katniss and Peeta both suffer from their respective experiences with the arena and the Capitol.

But, as Project UROK highlights, these kinds of issues are not works of fiction. They don’t just pop up in characters between the pages of a book or on our movie screens. They are very real, and require our attention and support.

Join the conversation by posting a video on the Project UROK website, or simply tweet with #myhungergames.
