Emmy winner Jeff Daniels will reunite with The Newsroom writer-producer Aaron Sorkin for the Broadway adaptation of Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird.

Daniels will play father and lawyer Atticus Finch, with Will Pullen (Sweat) and Tony nominee Celia Keenan-Bogler (The Glass Menagerie, Peter And The Starcatcher) set to play Jem and Scout. Gideon Glick (Spring Awakening) and Stark Sands (Kinky Boots) have also joined the cast, as Dill and prosecutor Horace Gilmer, respectively. The casting of the reclusive Boo Radley, fittingly, remains a mystery.

The stage version of the 1960 novel will be adapted by Sorkin, with Bartlett Sher on board to direct, and Scott Rudin to produce.

In a statement, Rudin shared:

We just finished two full labs of Aaron’s play, both directed by Bart, and both with this entire cast. It’s an extraordinarily rare occurrence that you can build a play on the people who will ultimately be in it, but that is what we were lucky enough to do.

Broadway’s To Kill A Mockingbird, a collaboration between Rudin and Lincoln Center Theater, will begin previews on November 1, with opening night scheduled for December 13.
