Approaching fifteen years since the original graced the silver screen, the trailer for Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser was released this week. Jumping on the sequel bandwagon,  David Spade is back to reprise his role as our underdog, mullet-rockin’ hero, Joe Dirt, who was dealt a rough hand when his parents abandoned him at the Grand Canyon as a baby.

Directed by Fred Wolf, who also co-wrote the script with Spade, the sequel seems to promise the same style humor as the first film. In a Hot Tub Time Machine -type manner, Joe Dirt is whisked from his perfect life and wife in a tornado, landing him back in time where he must make sure the events of his life still take place.

Most of the cast return for the film with the exception of Kid Rock, whose character will now be played by Mark McGrath. However, you can still expect to see Dennis Miller and Christopher Walken reprising their roles from the first movie.

While it might not reach Pitch Perfect 2 level fame, it is bound to get some attention from those who loved the silliness of the original.  You can see Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser streaming on Crackle starting July 16.
