Fans of U2: you won’t have to hold your breath for much longer. The Irish rock-band are set to release their 13th record within the next few months.
Adam Clayton, bass player for the band, has confirmed that the group are currently adding the final touches to their 13th studio album so it should be finished by November.
Speaking to Irish radio station, 98FM, he was asked about the sound of the upcoming album and said, “I think it’s a bit of a return to U2 of old, but with the maturity, if you like, of the U2 of the last 10 years…It’s a combination of those two things and it’s a really interesting hybrid.”
After a 4-year album hiatus, he added: “We’re in the studio. We’re trying to get these 12 songs absolutely right and get them finished by the end of November, and then we can kind of enjoy Christmas.”
The band were spotted entering a New York recording studio this past June with Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin, sparking rumours of a possible collaboration.
