In a world where comedy is the most profitable career in entertainment, two men stand out as being consistently hilarious and unique – and they’re working together to create one of the most exciting and brilliant ideas for a comedy series the world has seen for a while.
Louis C.K. and Zach Galifianakis are working together to create Baskets, about a man named Chip Baskets (Galifianakis) who pursues his dream of becoming a clown.
The full press release states:
In a world constrained by corporate interests and the homogenization of society, one man in Bakersfield, California dares to follow his dream of becoming a professional clown. But after an unsuccessful enrollment at a prestigious clowning school in Paris, the only job he can find is with the local rodeo. Baskets follows Chip Baskets’ (Galifianakis) pursuit of his dream, against all odds, to be a respected clown.
The show will air on FX, where C.K. has had a home for four years with his hilarious and soon-to-be-classic show Louie. FX is known for their off-beat, unique programming, and Baskets will no doubt add to the cable network’s list of impressive programming.
Baskets will air sometime in 2016.
