Indie Los Angeles band Lucy & La Mer is ready to show off their newest single “Honey Put Your Weapons Down.” Check it out here first.

Los Angeles indie band Lucy & La Mer are ready for the world to listen to their newest single.

Singer-songwriter and activist Lucy LaForge leads Lucy & La Mer. Her sound consists of various indie folk melodies, layered in with pop vocals and finished off with a signature baritone ukulele playing.

Lucy & La Mer’s newest single, “Honey Put Your Weapons Down”, is produced by Grammy Award-winning Jared Lee Gosselin. The single features breathy vocals, honest lyrics, and strong instrumentals all throughout the song. “The central theme for the single is transitioning; most of my songwriting happens when there’s a change occurring in my life.” The single is also said to be experimental and that it breaks down any boundaries.

Lucy & La Mer continue to aim to be a consistent reminder to fans and audiences to learn about self-love, to take a break from something that is wearing you down and focus on what is most important to you. Lucy & La Mer has also been featured in countless media outlets including Los Angeles Times, Brooklyn Vegan & LA Weekly. Lucy also works very closely with women’s rights organizations including More Than No, The Con-sensual, and the LGBT activist group AmBi.

PopWrapped is thrilled to give readers a listen to Lucy & La Mer’s newest single “Honey, Put Your Weapons Down”.

Lucy & La Mer: “Honey Put Your Weapons Down”

This song was absolutely amazing. Lucy’s vocals are simply breathtaking. They captivated me and drew me into the song. The song itself is very powerful with each lyric. It’s very rare that you can hear the story that an artist is trying to get across to an audience, but this song is a huge exception. There is a definite story, and it was very prominent. “I don’t think love should feel like war.” Her lyrics are very deep and bring things full circle, I feel. Add the instrumentals, and it just blends all of it together.

I highly recommend taking a listen to Lucy & La Mer because Lucy LaForge is going places and making her music known. If you did enjoy Lucy & La Mer and want more of them make sure you check out her social media including Facebook, Twitter, SoundCloud and their personal Website.
