Not content with stealing everyone’s hearts at the Academy Awards, Lupita Nyong’o has become the new face of Lancôme – the French luxury cosmetics and perfume brand.
The beautiful 31 year old Kenyan-Mexican actress, whose breakthrough role came in the form of the smash hit 12 Years a Slave, is the company’s first black ambassador and Françoise Lehmann, General Manager of Lancôme International recently said of the acting superstar “Both talented and committed, true to her African beauty, and showing a great curiosity and open-mindedness in her career choices, Lupita is by essence the Lancôme woman.”
She is in excellent company with fellow A-list actors Julia Roberts, Penelope Cruz and Kate Winslet also ambassadors of the brand.
Lupita’s campaigns will be seen this summer and she recently told Women’s Wear Daily why Lancôme “What they do supports something that already is — and that was appealing to me, too. It’s what drew me to them…I think Lancôme has a range of products for every woman, and I think having me will expand people’s understanding of, hopefully, what Lancôme stands for, who Lancôme is for.”
