Mads Mikkelsen Rumored For The Villainous Doctor Strange

Fresh out of NBC’s Hannibal, Mads Mikkelsen is rumored to be in talks to take on the role of the mysterious and villainous Doctor Strange.

Hannibal’s Mads Mikkelsen will soon grace the big-screen with his villainous role in Doctor Strange…I hope (fingers crossed). The ever-popular Danish actor, who just recently joined the Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One, is rumored to be in early talks for a key role in Marvel’s upcoming film Doctor Strange.

Reports don’t exactly confirm if Mikkelsen will be playing a villain, however, speculation is high at this point and all “rumored” signs point to Mikkelsen being the big bad which is something I have no problem with. Deadline has emphasized negotiations are at quite an early stage and Mikkelsen is just one of many actors being considered for the “unspecified” role opposite Benedict Cumberbatch.

Mads Mikkelsen definitely has the acting chops to pull off both a villain and a hero, with his roles ranging from the action packed Casino Royale to the somber Danish hit The Hunt. One of his most notable roles happens to be the iconic Doctor Hannibal Lecter on NBC’s Hannibal, whose finale airs on Saturday. Mikkelsen’s work on Hannibal alone is quite simply magnificent and if Doctor Strange does indeed need a superb villain, then Mads Mikkelsen is simply perfect for the job!
