Mariah Carey and pop star Miguel have just debut their new song, #Beautiful in the United States and in the United Kingdom.
The R&B song, part of Carey’s upcoming album, follows the typical pop recipe of today’s hits: take a girl, name some of her flaws and then tell her that no matter what she is beautiful. For added effect, have the girl talk about her flaws and embracing them. Add a touch of “ooh”ing and “woah-oh”ing and BAM! You have a hit pop single.
But in all honesty, the song is amazing. It takes the whole idea of writing a pop song for a girl to a new level. A level where it’s toned down, classed up and sexified. You can listen to the song and get a sneak peak of her music video here.
