MTV Renews ‘Faking It’ And Other Shows

Despite the cancellation of the fresh ‘Eye Candy’, MTV has managed to get some of its other shows renewed, including ‘Faking It’.

MTV announced Tuesday that the network would be renewing Faking It, Broke A$$ Game Show and Are You The One.

Teen comedy Faking It will be back for a third season and will finish airing the second half of the second season on August 31st. Faking It is about best-friends Amy and Karma who pretend to be lesbians in order to gain some popularity at their high-school. After a heated kiss, Amy realizes she’s in love with Karma, thus igniting the show’s ongoing story-line. Faking It has grown tremendously in popularity due to its clever and humor filled story-telling, along with the evolution of the lovable duo of Karma and Amy.

Broke A$$ Game Show will be back for its sophomore season. According to MTV’s website, half-hour comedy Broke A$$ Game Show “hits the streets of NYC, luring unsuspecting contestants to push their personal limits for cash. By never wasting money on fancy lights, stages or expensive props, hosts David Magidoff and Derek Gaines bring the savings to the people with truly “broke a$$” challenges and irreverent games all promising cold hard cash in exchange for contestants’ dignity.”

MTV’s third renewal, Are You the One?, will return for a third season and its premise is described as “the most ambitious dating experiment ever attempted, 10 single women were selected and put through an extensive matchmaking process to find 10 single guys who are their perfect match. Now all 20 are living together in Puerto Rico trying to figure out who is their match and if they do, they’ll split the largest cash prize in MTV history – ONE MILLION DOLLARS. But this season….there’s a twist. An 11th girl will join the house as a double match for one of the guys. It’s a race to the Truth Booth because for one girl going 10 for 10 means going home without love or money.”
