Naked Walrus’ new EP, Simple, won’t be officially released for another day, but you’re able to hear it for the first time here at PopWrapped.
If you haven’t heard about this Los Angeles band yet, get ready to fall in love. Their unique mix of rock genres can be heard throughout the entire EP, making you fall in love in more ways than one and keeping you on your toes until the last song ends.
“We’re extremely excited to finally release our EP Simple to the world! This album is a representation of our growth as friends and creatives. We wrote each of these songs to challenge our regular and take our sound to the next level. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way we can’t wait to share what’s next!“, says Naked Walrus frontman, Dakota Gartner.
While fans may recognize two of the songs that were previously released as singles, “Minus” and “Eyes,” each of the other songs showcase different sides to the band showing that they are able to do anything while still creating their own style that listeners will love.
“I found myself really questioning my life path while writing these lyrics. The idea of following my dreams had officially become a reality, and it was up to me to put it into action. Overall, I hope that people can relate to the feelings of necessity and passion that this song evokes. Not to mention losing it during the break down because it’s heavy!!!” said Gartner.
Right off the back with “Now,” listeners will fall in love with Gartner’s vocals. You can easily hear the feeling in his voice, even through the different genre changes that the band takes in this album. Different vocal harmonies also allow Naked Walrus to stand out, making you wonder what different combinations they come up with next.
The rest of the band comes together to create a different world with their music, making you wish it never ended. By the end of the EP, you’re left wishing there was more for you to hear but still left satisfied with knowing that whatever they come up next will be just as good and excited as Simple.
Simple will be released on November 11th.
