It seems Fashion Star isn’t so stylish anymore.
After two seasons, NBC has pulled the plug on the reality show starring Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, and John Varvatos.
The show’s low ratings were the cause of the cancellation with about 2.5 million viewers tuning in for the season two finale.
The show featured contestants competing to have their designs sold in Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Express; Simpson, Richie, and Varvatos acted as mentors to the contestants.
After season one, the show had a makeover of its own with British model Louise Roe replacing Elle Macpherson as host, and Express replacing H&M as a buyer.
Although the show may be cancelled, Simpson and Richie still remain fashion stars. Simpson’s clothing line, The Jessica Simpson Collection, made $750 million in retail sales in 2012, while Richie has a jewellery and accessory line House of Harlow 1960.
