North Korea Announces That They Have Miniaturized Warheads

Kim Jong-Un, the undisputed leader of authoritarian state North Korea, has stated that his nation has successfully miniaturized nuclear warheads.

Kim Jong-Un, the undisputed leader of authoritarian state North Korea, has stated that his nation has successfully miniaturized nuclear warheads so that they can fit on a ballistic missile and be launched like a firework.

North Korea’s state controlled media aired the announcement last Wednesday. “The nuclear warheads have been standardized to be fit for ballistic missiles by miniaturizing them,” Kim was reported as saying, when he addressed a group of nuclear scientists. Whether this is true though has not yet been independently verified.

The announcement comes in the heels of South Korea imposing unilateral actions against it’s northern rival. Seoul has severed all ties with Pyonyang, and placed a new set of sanctions in response to the North’s ongoing missile and nuclear testing. The relationship between the two nations is now like a house of cards, one blow from caving in.

The United Nations Security Council has also adopted a resolution last week that would impose fresh sanctions on North Korea. The resolution seeks to make it harder for the nation to raise the needed funds and to import the technology it needs to improve their nuclear program. To ensure this the Security Council has also imposed mandatory searches of any cargo that is going to and from North Korea, hoping that this would stop them from wanting to start again.

But in defiance North Korea has launched two ballistic missiles and let it shoot across the sky toward the sea between Japan and the Korean peninsula this Wednesday.

Pyongyang had earlier threatened this week to ignite the light and launch nuclear strikes against South Korea and the United States, when the two nations began their annual military drills.

It is customary for North Korea to launch missiles during the annual military event; last year they showed the west what they’re weapons are worth when they also launched two scud missiles in March.
