Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman in the 70’s famous TV show gave her blessing to Gal Gadot, the Israeli actress and model who is featured in the upcoming Batman Vs Superman movie.
“I’m in her corner. I just hope they write well for her! (…) I’m very hopeful she embodies the essence of Wonder Woman. It’s less about super powers and more about heart and intellect and a sense of right and wrong with a goodness in her. Often times, writers really want to take a male superhero and dress him up as a female – and that’s just not who she is” Carter declared in an interview for the Huffington Post.
However, there are some shadows left in the picture. Indeed, hundreds of comic book fans consider that Gadot is much too skinny for the role. In spite of months of training, it does not seem that she gained the required curves to play a convincing Wonder Woman. According to the Inquisitr, “the 28-year-old at the time defended her figure stating that her version of Wonder Woman was ‘the Wonder Woman of the new world’.”
For the time being, fans would just have to wait and see.
Batman VS Superman will open in May 2016.
