Remember Finding Nemo, the Pixar animated hit that told the story of a clown fish looking for his son?
If you do you’re gonna love this, if not… well go watch it now; what have you been doing with your life?
Anyway, while searching for Nemo, the clown fish father, Marlin, and his forgetful companion, Dory, encounters a strange shark named Bruce who together with two other sharks are trying their best to become “vegetarians.”
Bruce is the leader and befriends Marlin and Dory who are frightened by his signature toothy smile.
Of course the movie is fiction, but a photographer from Florida has taken a picture of Bruce’s real life counterpart.
As far as we know this Bruce is not a vegetarian but he does sport the same memorable grin…
The picture was taken by Kenneth ‘Wayne’ MacWilliams, a 58 year old retiree. He was diving with Emerald Charters scuba diving in the waters off the coast of Juniper, Florida when he spotted the shark. It appears to look straight at the camera with a wide grin and all of its sharp teeth on proud display.
But Kenneth did not find it alarming at all “Since it appears as the shark is smiling, it made me smile.” he told Caters News Agency.
The picture was taken on February, 2016 but has only recently gotten attention and has gone viral.

The shark’s amicable appearance is attributed to it being a lemon shark, a breed that is well known for being the friendliest of the species. They are also not considered a threat to humans and currently there is no known fatality attributed to them.
There is no indication what type of shark Bruce is in Finding Nemo, but I’m pretty sure if there is one word to describe him it’ll be ‘friendly’- until he smells blood that is.
