It seems Demi Lovato’s fans were not having it when Pink had some few choice words on Twitter Thursday (3rd September) about last weekend’s MTV VMAs, describing some of the acts as “gross and embarrassing.”
But was Pink necessarily including Lovato as well?
The 35 year old singer recently took to Twitter to defend her comments and explained that in no way was she “calling out anybody” in her tweets, particularly Lovato.

After coming under attack for her previous tweets, the singer felt the need to explain herself a bit better but was in no way apologising for what she thought were, of course, her own opinions.

The singer, who is no stranger to saying what’s on her mind regarding today’s celebrities (anyone remember the awesome track “Stupid Girl”?), admits to probably being “too old” while watching the ceremony and feeling a sense of sadness. Pink reportedly wrote on her private Instagram account:
I felt embarrassed and sad. And old. We’re getting old. But in all seriousness; I felt sad because music is supposed to inspire. It saved my life. This trash won’t save any kids life.
The “Most Girls” singer praised acts such as “Justin Bieber and Tori Kelly” for their performances — particularly Kelly, who she referred to as the “freaking performance” of the night.
In a world that is even scarier and with lives still worth saving, who will stand up and have soul? Disenfranchised to say the least. Let down by my industry and peers. Beside Macklemore and Pharrell and Bieber (pre-sob fest) and The Weeknd, Tori Kelly was dope too. The rest was gross and embarrassing and hard for this aging pop star to believe.
However, it seems Lovato wasn’t too impressed by Pink’s previous tweets.

I think we need to lighten up a bit, people. Pink was only expressing an opinion which I am sure a lot of us felt while watching this year’s VMAs … including yours truly.
