“Guys, there’s gonna be some haters out there…” Haters? What haters? The Bellas are back together again to sing, dance and kick a little aca-ass in this Pitch Perfect 2 Super Bowl spot, and we couldn’t be more excited! And this time, there’s even a riff-off with the Green Bay Packers!
Wait…what?
For those of us unfortunate enough to have seen the 1985 Chicago Bears’ rhythmless, tone-deaf atrocity known as The Super Bowl Shuffle, The Packers’ Clay Matthews III, David Bakhtiari, TJ Lang, Josh Sitton, Don Barclay and Jordan Rodgers do a comparatively admirable and hilarious job singing Beyonce’s “Bootylicious.” Even if the routine proves to be 100% lip-synced, I’ll still give them kudos for owning it.
Elizabeth Banks takes the director’s chair in Pitch Perfect 2 and reprises her roles as producer and aca-commentator alongside John Michael Higgins. Almost the entire original cast is back for another round, with Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy, Married With Children) and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit, Romeo & Juliet) joining the cast.
Before the big game on Sunday, Banks also tweeted this behind-the-scenes look at the Packers in action on set.
