As Senior Manager here at PopWrapped, one of my main focuses is to always be looking for that “next big thing.” Pop culture is an ever-evolving entity that requires all those who write about it to constantly reinvent themselves. So when a twitter account with the handle @Sattire101 tweeted me a satirical, original comic about Kanye West’s antics at the Grammys (above), I was immediately intrigued.

After a few weeks of prepping and organizing, I am proud and thrilled to introduce you to Galen, artist extraordinaire; as well as his lovely business partner, Marc Harrison (who will be posting all of the comics on behalf of Galen to the site).

Galen is a South African born artist living in London. He works as an art technician and freelance illustrator. He works in many mediums, from live-drawing, cartooning, mixed mediums, charcoal and photography. He recently took up satirical cartooning, but has been cartooning since birth. His wide variety of work can be seen on his website.

Galen doesn’t really show anyone his work (except for everyone who visits his website, Galendraws.com– coming soon!).

I would like to extend a warm welcome to both Galen and Marc, and I sincerely hope you all enjoy what they do. I love the idea of telling a story through a picture as a way to shake up the monotony of the everyday, and Galen’s spot-on social commentary about the things happening in world bring an air of lightness to the heavy issues that weigh on us all.
