Prince Harry Talks About His Mother And Support Of Injured Vets

Prince Harry recently reflected upon memories with his mother Princess Diana and his work to support injured veterans.

Prince Harry was well known for getting in trouble in his youth, the so called ‘Party Prince’ had often been lambasted or cheered on for his wild escapades that would land him in the front pages of tabloids.

These days though, the young royal is more well known for his continued patronage of his mother’s favored charities, his service in the British Armed forces, and his support of injured veterans.

It is this compassion for his fellow men and women in uniform that drove the Prince to set up the Invictus Games, an international Paralympic multi-sport competition held for armed service personnel who are either , injured or sick.

Speaking to Robin Roberts on Good Morning America to promote the next games to be held this May, Prince Harry opened up about how much this endeavor means to him.

‘We share that uniform. We share the training. We share, in some cases, Afghanistan. It’s very special,’ The Prince who served two tours of duty in the front lines of Afghanistan said.

But there is also a personal note to the venue of the Invictus Games which will be held in Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

‘It’s one of my very, very happy memories, of going to Disney World with my mum,’ Harry said. ‘I went on Space Mountain 14 times. I was like, “This is absolutely fantastic. This is the best thing ever.”‘

He also hopes that his work would honor his mother, Princess Diana who tragically died in a car accident in 1997 while being pursued by Paparazzi.

‘I hope that everything we do privately and officially, that it makes her proud. I think losing your mother at such a young age does end up shaping your life massively.’ Harry said referring to himself and his older brother William who also helped him establish the Invictus Games. Each brother has also supported their share of their late mother’s charities.

‘I hope she’s looking down with tears in her eyes, being incredibly proud of what we’ve established’ Harry continued.

But don’t think for a second that the Prince is all serious has lost his cheeky persona.

When the discussion came around to his bachelor status and plans for any future children, Prince Harry candidly answered that he can’t wait for the day to have his own children then said that ‘I’ve got a kid inside of me. I want to keep that. I adore kids. I enjoy everything that they bring to the party. They just say what they think.’

But for the time being he enjoys being a ‘fun uncle’ to his nephew Prince George and niece Princess Charlotte.

‘You’ve got to have fun in life. Otherwise, wow, imagine life without fun,’ Harry said. ‘You’ve got to be taken seriously, but I hope that I’m a fun uncle.’

The young royal also opened up about a small talent he has: ‘Everyone needs a hug now and again and it just so happens that I’ve been told over and over again that I’m very good with hugs,’ the Prince said.

Well I’m sure a lot of people would like to try to see if that is true, hugs anyone?
