A South Carolina man responded to a racist march in an amazing way: with a sousaphone. Matt Buck was coming home from work when he ran into a number of KKK and other white supremacist groups at a pro-racist march. Buck wanted to do something “to show [his] opposition” so he went home, grabbed his sousaphone, and came back out.
He then gave the KKK and the other racist organizations
their
very own background music.
The march was organized by the KKK and attended by neo-Nazis and other white supremacist organizations. They were supporting the Confederate flag, which was recently removed from the statehouse. They, like many others, assert that the racist symbol is about heritage, not hate. They assembled other like-minded hate groups to spread the message.
Buck followed the group playing circus sounds, music from the Disney movie Dumbo, and Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries.” The one-man-protest was caught on video and has since gone viral.
