Fans hoping for a Parks and Recreation reunion got a teaser of one this week, thanks to Rashida Jones. On her Instagram page, she shared a recent photo of herself with her former co-stars Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari, and Aubrey Plaza.
Rashida Jones' #parks4life post:
While it’s not the full reunion fans have been hoping for, it’s clear the group still has a lot of love for one another. (And a lot to say, as Chris Pratt shared with Entertainment Weekly last fall that the cast still stays in sometimes daily contact with each other).
Parks and Rec: Where Are They Now?
After seven seasons on the critically acclaimed NBC show, which wrapped in 2015, the cast of Parks and Recreation has moved on to a myriad of interesting—and for some, blockbuster—projects. Poehler, who played the indomitable civil servant Leslie Knope, shared her voice talents for the Disney-Pixar smash Inside Out and will be seen this summer alongside her former Saturday Night Live co-star Will Ferrell in the big-screen comedy The House. She’ll also be returning for the second season of the Netflix reboot Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later.
Ansari (who played the ever-on-trend Tom Haverford) is starring on the popular Netflix series Master of None, Plaza (the deadpan April Ludgate) is on FX’s Legion, and Retta (no-nonsense Donna Meagle) is now a series regular on Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce. Nick Offerman (the gives-zero-Fs Ron Swanson) recently toured in a two-person stage show with his wife, Megan Mullally (who memorably played Swanson’s wild ex-wife, Tammy, on Parks and Rec). Their show spawned a TV special, and Offerman is also working on a number of feature film projects.
Adam Scott (Leslie’s love and enthusiastic gamer Ben Wyatt) co-starred in HBO’s spring hit, Big Little Lies, and will soon be headed to Fox for a new series. Rob Lowe (literally, Chris Traeger) is working on a variety of TV projects and will be seen this summer in the movie How to Be a Latin Lover. Jim O’Heir (the always fish out of water Jerry Gergich) is active in TV and film work and even did a stint on The Bold and the Beautiful last year. As for Chris Pratt (the lovable goofball Andy Dwyer)? He’s been off saving everybody in blockbuster films like Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy.
And mini-reunion ringleader Jones, who played Leslie’s BFF Ann Perkins, is starring on and producing the TBS comedy Angie Tribeca. She’s also working on the screenplay for Toy Story 4, among many other projects.
With a group as busy as the former Parks and Rec cast, a full reunion isn’t likely any time soon. But thanks to Jones, fans are enjoying seeing at least some of their Pawnee faves back together again.
